Meet Michelle, a London-based artist at Briar Rose Tattoos specializing in black & grey illustrative work. Michelle is open to most styles and subjects but especially loves tattooing skulls, animals, insects, and plants - anything nature-related, especially with a witchy twist.

I have waited a few weeks to submit this review so that I could include a photo of my healed piece as well as it under the second skin. I am so unbelievably happy with my tattoo and the entire process. From the start I was full of confidence that I had chosen the right person to do this piece. Michelle was great. The initial sketches looked great and I only had minimal feedback about the position of the flowers etc which when seeing the final design was included. Michelle was patient with me as I decided on the correct size of the piece, the placement and on including some green and not just all black and grey. Her opinions were very professional but she also took into account my feelings about various elements as this tattoo has a lot of emotional meaning behind it. The tattoo process was the most comfortable I have had yet, I didn't even realise she had started in the beginning. Aftercare instructions were very clear and it healed up perfectly with minimal scabbing. 100% I will be getting another piece done by Michelle in future (if she'll have me 😅) and I highly recommend her as an artist.
From start to finish I had a great experience with Michelle. Both professional and friendly, she really gave me confidence that she could add more floral work to my current tattoo while adjusting some shading on a rose done by another artist 3 years ago. She gave excellent guidance on sizing and posistion. It already fits in well after 4 weeks of healing. I can't wait to see it when it's aged more! Absolutely would love to get her to work on a fresh piece elsewhere in the future!
To hold your spot, I usually require a £50 deposit. This deposit will be applied to the final cost of your tattoo and is paid by card through Tattoodo when you book the appointment. I offer financing options through Klarna, allowing you to spread out the deposit and/or the final cost if needed. The remaining amount is paid on the day of the appointment. I prefer bank transfer but accept cash too :)
I usually send a sketch of the design a few days in advance, so you can check it out and make sure it’s exactly what you envision. If you have any tweaks in mind, don’t hesitate to let me know!
If you need to reschedule or cancel, please let me know asap. If you reschedule 14 days in advance, you can transfer your deposit to the new appointment. Otherwise a new deposit will required. Deposits are non-refundable.
Yes! You‘re welcome to bring a friend to your appointment, but please let me know in advance. And please avoid bringing along more than one person (the studio is quite cozy, so there might not be enough space).
For the remaining balance after the deposit, I prefer bank transfer, but cash is also fine. I also offer financing options through Klarna, so that you can spread out your payment over time.
